One vision, held from concept to build. The design authority that keeps a project's integrity intact from the first conversation to opening night.
01
A project has hundreds of moving parts. Design direction is the thing that makes them feel like one. I originate the vision and hold it through every decision until the project is built. The thinking behind the design, not just the output of it.
02
Some projects need senior design thinking at the front, where it matters most. Brought in at brief stage to interrogate the problem, originate the concept, and set the creative direction that everything downstream builds on. Delivered as a defined package, handed over clean, and built on by your team.
03
From the first sketch to a fully resolved spatial concept. Site analysis, audience flow, stage positioning, acoustic integration, material selection, and atmosphere design — all considered together rather than handed off between disciplines. Architecture-trained thinking applied to environments where the experience is the product. Concept visuals and rendered environments developed as part of the design process, so a direction can be seen and stress-tested before anything is committed to build.
04
The gap between a great concept and a great build is documentation. Working drawings, CAD packages, acoustic specification, AV and lighting integration, and full construction documentation. Everything a contractor needs to deliver the design intent without interpretation errors, and everything a licensing authority needs to sign it off.
05
The build phase is where most projects lose their integrity. On-site creative direction, contractor liaison, and quality control through every stage of construction. The same person who originated the concept stays present through delivery. No handover, no translation loss, no compromises made without understanding what they cost.
06
Generative tools have changed the speed of concept work, but only if they're built into a real pipeline. I design AI-accelerated workflows for creative and design teams: from brief to photorealistic concept imagery, flowing into proper CAD, 3D, and technical documentation. The system gets designed, documented, and handed over to your team to run. Built from practice, not theory; it's how my own studio works.
Brief
The first conversation is the most important one. Understanding what you need the project to do, who it's for, what success looks like, and what the person standing in the space needs to feel. Everything that follows comes from getting this right.
Concept
One idea that answers the brief. A single creative direction, presented visually with enough resolution to stress-test it before committing to development.
Development
The concept becomes a buildable design. 3D models, material selections, technical drawings, acoustic and AV specification — all developed together rather than sequentially. Every decision tested against the original brief before it moves forward.
Delivery
On-site through the build. Detail drawings, as-builts, technical documentation kept current as the project evolves. Every contractor meeting, every material substitution, every last-minute decision filtered through the same creative vision that started the project.
Handover
The project doesn't end at opening night. A full documentation package covering every specification, drawing, and supplier contact — everything needed to maintain, adapt, or build on the work long after the engagement ends. The project ends with everything documented and nothing dependent on me.
Every project starts with a conversation. If you have an idea, a brief or a challenge that needs senior design thinking, get in touch.
